Depends. A lot of important things happens in the first season. There is only three seasons of the more "traditional" Torchwood, the last season only being five episodes. It's not terribly long, so I'd suggest you watch it all to understand everything.

@Tosh Basically we don't have any sort of a BBC (radio where you can listen news...) but our Yle has a pretty good mutual understanding with them so we get to see some stuff (usually documentaries though like Frozen planet which I missed and Dowton abbey...) quite quickly after they've shown it in UK. They show both seasons of Sherlock (I want to kill the person who put together subtitles! The worst thing I've seen in a while!) this summer even though they've shown the first one already last autumn. Otherwise I occasionally watch BBC live on net because tunnelbear rocks.
@Johnny-boy Argh! Never ever start watching anything from the middle! Bad mistake.

@Mrs. Hudson: What country would that be? I'm unfamilar with Yle. All our BBC shows is Top Gear, Doctor Who (mostly Tennant episodes), and Torchwood occasionally late at night when the FFC doesn't bug them so much about censors. I would use the proxies to watch BBC live, but sadly our IT at school is monitored. We are getting our own Americanized Sherlock, but John is a girl and Asian, which honestly makes no sense and will most likely never live up to the BBC series. It is ridiculous. I hate our television at times.
@John: Listen to your landlady. She is wise.

@Tosh That would be Finland. And btw. we will crush team USA in WC tournament! Oh dear, that sounds just wrong. I mean It could be fine but then again I refuse to watch Being Human US even though I'm sure their special effects are probably better.
It really sucks that college thing. I've always had own internet connection of some sort so it's been fine enough to cheat a little bit at times. I just loved the Live Stargazing they did and some quiz shows like QI.

@Mrs. Hudson: Ah. And I'm assuming WC is the World Cup? I first thought Wash Closet... whoops. Most Americans don't care about soccerfootball, sadly. I am well aware our team sucks because our people don't even care about them, so usually I go for Germany. I really don't want to watch the US version ever, but I will probably have to in the end, since it is on CBS, which my family /always/ has the TV tuned to, so... Hopefully it won't make me want to throw something through the screen.
I can cheat at least this summer. I'll be back home so I can use my private internet. Huzzah!

@Tosh Hehe! Football=boring! No I meant Hockey world champs which is bigger thing here in Europe than there. I know that very well but hey it's in our blood the whole hockey business. Ah when the summer comes there is nothing in telly here. Nothing. Not that I'm able to watch anything because I'm usually at work when there is something interesting. Prime time sucks. Missed Sherlocks too because I was at work. Maybe when they show it again I could make our youngters to watch it so I could do that too which would be time at work well spend... Pffff.. and now that it's 6.40am I have to start helping with maths. I just adore night shifts.

Owen has his own seduction. He can be a jerk and still get women. *cough*Tosh*cough*
That is rather distracting, Sherlock.
